Privacy policy

UK data protection law (the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018) requires anyone who collects and uses personal information to do so in a way that protects your privacy and your rights. I treat your information with the utmost care and will only use or share it for the purposes agreed with you in advance.

When you contact me

If you get in touch through this website, by email or by phone, I will use your name, contact details and message only to reply to you and to discuss your ceremony. This website is hosted by Squarespace, which stores messages sent through the contact form securely on my behalf.

Writing your ceremony

Any personal or family details we discuss are used purely to write your ceremony, which you will see and approve. I will not share these details with anyone who is not a guest at, or connected to, your ceremony without your express written consent.

Handwritten notes are shredded once the ceremony has been written. Ceremony scripts are kept in secure, password-protected computer files. Printed scripts are destroyed after use, except for the keepsake copy that I send to you after the ceremony.

How long I keep your information

All personally identifiable information is securely deleted or destroyed one year after the ceremony takes place.

Sharing your information

I will never sell your personal information or give it to any third party, except where I am required to do so by law.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to ask me to correct it, or to ask me to delete it. To do any of these, please email emma@emmamiller.uk.

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
